Sys-tune 3.0.0 Released: Background Music Player Gets Major Update
Developer TheReconJacob has released version 3.0.0 of sys-tune, a popular background music player for the Nintendo Switch. This updated version enhances the original homebrew application with several new features that improve user experience and functionality.
The key new features in this update include:
- Persistent playlists that are saved when restarting the Switch
- Auto-play option that automatically starts your playlist when powering on your console
- New whitelist mode that plays music only when specific games or applications are running (opposite of the existing blacklist functionality)
Sys-tune allows Switch users to play background music in MP3, FLAC, WAV, or WAVE formats while playing games. The application can be controlled through the Tesla overlay menu, making it easy to manage your music without exiting your current game.

Nintendo Switch 2 Releases June 5th for $450
Nintendo has officially announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5th, 2025 for $450. The console features a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution, enhanced Joy-Con controllers with magnetic attachment, and significantly improved processing power. Pre-orders will begin on April 9th, with a special $500 bundle also available that includes a digital copy of the new Mario Kart World.
The new hardware supports up to 4K resolution when docked, features 256GB of internal storage, and includes a new "C" button that activates the GameChat feature for voice and video communication. Nintendo confirmed the system will be backward compatible with most Switch games, though some titles may have compatibility issues.

GameChat Feature Brings Social Element to Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2's new GameChat feature allows players to communicate with up to 12 friends simultaneously via voice chat, with the option to add video using the new Nintendo Switch 2 Camera accessory ($54.99). Players can share their screens with up to four friends in a session, regardless of what games they're playing.
The feature is activated by the new "C" button on the right Joy-Con, and uses a built-in microphone with noise cancellation technology. GameChat will be available for free until March 31, 2026, after which it will require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
